Sections: 1. Introduction 2. History 3. Stock Market Basics
Sections 1-3 are aimed at beginners to help you understand the jargon and the world of stock brokers, market makers, investment analysts and the different types of shares, warrants, debentures and bonds etc. They tell the history of the London Stock Exchange and how it has changed over the centuries. They highlight useful lessons from the past which are still relevant today. If you’re in a hurry, you might just read the section “500 years of history in a flash” in Section 2, and some of the the “Stock Market Basics” in Section 3 - like the section on market scams and fraud.
Section 4. Price Trend System Overview
This is an important Section which gives an overview of the system and investment goals. It explains the Ten Price Trend System Principles of how and what makes shares move in four regular ways. It describes the repetitive nature of economic cycles and shares. It sets out a dealing process of four steps: (i) search, (ii) buy, (iii) hold, (iv) sell. You’ll learn about the volatility of share prices during each phase of the ‘company life cycle’ - through launch, growth, maturity and decline.
Section 5. Ten Price Trend System Principles
Each of the Ten Principles is described in detail. They form the basis of rough price and time predictions. They attempt to answer
the question “How do shares actually move?” Learn these principles and you are on the way to preparing price and time forecasts. You’ll soon rely on a price chart to make informed decisions - rather than on a hunch or from unreliable press comments or from biased professionals. They explain techniques to spot peaks and troughs and to use trading tactics like the “golden goose”
and “super-shares over 100%.”
Section 6. Trading Psychology
There are sections which cover: overcoming fear, balancing emotions with logic, false impressions, anxiety over losses, psychology of money management, trading instinct, changing attitude and beliefs, and how to analyse your own personal investment style. You’ll need to improve your psychological skills, mental toughness and attitude to risk. This section should increase your confidence and trading ability by developing your emotional strengths. It shows you how to “apply the brakes” if a forecast is not met. As no one can trade with a 100% success rate.
Section 7. Training
You’ll be trained to find stockbroker, company, tax and library information. So you’ll be able to select the most appropriate type of stockbroker for your circumstances. You’ll understand the jargon in the press and know what all the tables and columns mean. You’ll be able to get free share price and company information and learn how to save paying tax. You’ll be advised on applying your personal investment style to the “Decision Triangle” to balance your time, risk-reward profile and win-loss rate. Also there is a section on turning your investment objectives into your own tailored trading strategy and trading plan. Since we don’t want you to lose money, you’ll be guided to follow the case studies. The case studies are like a driving test. Next, you must practice some theoretical/paper trades before using your cash to buy shares.
